Volunteers needed to re-start Benenden Scout Group

Volunteers needed to re-start Benenden Scout Group

Sadly, the Benenden Scout Group has closed following the recent resignation of its leaders and executive members. To re-start the Group as quickly as possible, the District Commissioner is looking for a Group Scout leader and about eight volunteers who are interested in forming the executive committee.

The Group Scout leader is a uniformed, management role which involves liaising with the committee and the leaders of the Scout, Beaver and Cub sections. Executive members would become trustees of the Group and given training. Duties include looking after the finances, assets, maintenance, safety, promotions, recruitment, media, insurance, publicity, resources, good name, membership data, etc. Once the executive committee has been established and leaders have been appointed, the youth sections (Beavers, Cubs & Scouts) can be opened, There is already a Beaver leader in the village who'd like to start a Colony.

Existing Benenden Scouts have been offered places in the Cranbrook and Sissinghurst Troops until we can re-start the village Group.
