Parish Councillors are aware that there is quite a bit of litter on our verges and in our hedgerows.
Unfortunately the pandemic has prevented the organisation of the usual Village Tidy Events.
Keep Britain Tidy’s own advice has been that no organised litter picking events should take place whilst in lockdown.
It is hoped that the “Great British Spring Clean”, which the Borough Council and Parish Councils normally tie in with, will take place between 28th May and 13th June, and, all being well, the Parish Council will aim to hold an organised village tidy at this time.
In the meantime, individuals can choose to pick up litter as part of their daily exercise, and the Parish Council would welcome this input, but please make sure you do this safely and in line with the latest government guidance.
The Parish Council also asks landowners to keep hedges and verges in good repair to maintain the attractiveness of our village.
